Soviet and Russian Federation Camouflage

Russian Camouflage - A personal observation
Soviet Russia was one of the first nations to issue camouflage uniforms to its troops in World War Two, albeit in small quantities and only to specific units(usually snipers). The Cold War kept the USSR's interests in camouflage active with a number of developments in pattern during the eighties and nineties. During the late nineties and into the 21st century pattern developments seems to have been heavily influenced by a number of different sources mostly European(German, British, NATO, etc) and Vietnam period American camouflage and more recently American developments into digital patterns.
